torture scenes too much for me

I love a great mystery novel, and procedural mystery novels. I believe I can handle a lot when it comes to gritty. However, the cast approach and the prolonged torture scenes really spoiled it for me. Otherwise, well done story and performance if you have the stomach for it.

Difficulty holding my attention

This one could not keep or hold my attention. Actually I fell asleep while listening to the book

Almost like watching it happen

in addition to a gripping story, the. voices of the well-known and hugely talented actors make this a vivid listening experience. i especially loved hearing the outstanding Kevin Whately in another role. Five stars!

Intense,tragic, heartbreaking and yet offers some hope .The superb acting and narration brought this story to the life. Mixed of the emotions feel with anger and sadness to the end .Great drama,thanks Audible!

Great!

I loved it! It was like an old fashioned radio show. But having listened to all of the books narrated by a single voice, I sort of missed my reader.....I really love the way he does all the different voices.

The story and the performance was very good. If you like gory suspense thrillers, then this one fits the bill.

I loved everything about this. The cast was spectacular, the story so riveting. I didn't want the story to end.

An A plus production

I spent 50 years in the broadcast industry and grew up in the 1940’s and 50’s when radio drama was in its twilight years. If productions this good had been around then, we would still have radio drama on US radio today.

Scary horrible murders. Villain is truly evil. Excellent format. Great performances. Really enjoyed the characters.

Loved it !!!

Absolutely amazing story and acting. Wish all this series was full cast like this one. From there points of view from DCI Ryan to the Killer to the victims.
